Treatment for Sleep Problems

Insomnia or the inability to experience quality sleep affects 60 million Americans. 22% of Americans polled by the Sleep Foundation reported that they experience some level of insomnia every night. Insomnia may be the inability to fall asleep or to stay asleep during the night, either way it leaves you feeling tired and drained of energy. If you have struggled with insomnia you know how frustrating it can be to worry about sleep and being tired and nothing has really worked well. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) has proven to be the most effective treatment for insomnia available today, and has shown time and time again in large meta-analysis of research to be effective in treating insomnia with lasting results. Medications have been the first line of treatment for many people but there are many negative aspects to medication treatment including poor long term resolution of the core causes of the insomnia.

CBT-I Treatment Plan includes keeping track of your sleep habits and then making changes to them to help you increase the quality of your sleep. CBT-I has proven to be as effective as you are in implementing the treatment interventions learned in sessions. I utilize a mixture of behavioral therapies, relaxation and acceptance strategies to improve sleep long term. So, if you are ready to put insomnia behind you, let get started!

Insomnia is frequently part of another mental health concern such as depression, anxiety or post traumatic stress disorder. All of these concerns will be addressed during treatment so that your recovery will be holistic and return you to a place of balance. Treatment for insomnia is available in my office in Marietta, Georgia and is also available in online sessions conducted through a secure video meeting software to anyone in the State of Georgia. This option is very convenient for people who have busy schedules or live in an area of the state without a provider for this type of treatment. The cost of treatment is 120.00 per session whether in person or in web based sessions. The number of sessions is difficult to determine because it may take some people longer to return to more normal sleep than others, but in general it is about 8 sessions. In any case, you will leave treatment with the knowledge to return to the skills that you have learned so that you will know what to do for the rest of your life if sleep becomes a problem again.

Insomnia treatment is available in an entirely online format. Because this therapy is mostly behavioral in nature it is very well suited to online delivery.
