Creating Behavior Charts that Work! July 10, 2020 -Totally Online Synchronous Training. Therapists are frequently called on to help children and teens with serious behavior problems that are interfering with their home and school lives, but many times we just don't know what to do to help them. The first tool many therapists turn to is a behavior chart to help parents and teachers reward good behavior. But too often the behavior charts aren't helpful and parents give up. The truth is that behavior charts are the most powerful tool we have in our tool kit to implement positive reinforcement and change behavior, but if they are not implemented with the foundations of behavior science in place, they will never work. This workshop will give you: 1. The foundational research and behavior models that should be in play when creating and implementing a behavior modification system. 2. Training on the most important parts of a behavior chart such as which behaviors to choose and how to put them on the chart to create an opportunity for positive reinforcement. How to choose rewards that motivate! 3. How to help parents implement the chart with fidelity.
